Let's Make a Perpetual Calendar

What do we have for you today?

Why not make a perpetual calender to sit on your desk or

in your craft room.  I have made this one with the

New Pink Flower Power Designer Papers and printable.

Let's have a look at what I have used and how to make one for yourself.

I started with making my cubes by using a 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock.  One

sheet per cube.

Score at 1/2", 3", 5 1/2" and 8' with the 8 1/2" side on the top.

 Turn the cardstock so the 11" side is on top and score 

at 1/2", 3", 5 1/2", 8" and 10 1/2"

You need to add a score line on 2 of the flaps to make tabs to glue

your cube all together.  Follow the diagram and cut all the areas

out to leave you your cube base.

This is just the way I learned to do cubes, but sure there are many 

other ways.  My cubes have a cube face of 2 1/2" when assembled.

I cut my paper to at 2 1/4" to decorate each of the cubes. 6 per cube.

I also cut a white panel to hold my numbers. 

Here is the numbers you will need for each cube so

you have the right numbers to cover each day of the month.

Cube 1: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Cube 2: 0, 1, 2, 7, 8, 9

Make sure to use a die, font (if printing numbers) that has a 9 or 6 that can be

flipped over to use as the 6 and 9 together.

I distressed all the edges before putting together.

The base is from cardstock cut at 5 3/8" x 11"

Score on the 11" side at 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/8", 5 7/8"

You want the bottom of the stand to slope

down in the back for the cubes to sit at a slight angle.

To add a support and help hold the cubes on the stand, I took a piece of cardstock

2 7/8" x 10 1/2"

With the 10 1/2' side on top, score at 2 3/4", 8"

I added a 1/2" score line on one of the side of  to use as

tabs to attach to the bottom of the base.

Follow the diagram to cut the side panels.

This is how I attached the support panel.  Wrap around and secure

the tabs to the bottom and the back to the panel.

Now you are ready to decorate and add all your goodies.

I started with adding a Spellbinders Labels 25 die cut to hold

my printable and any embellishments.

I cut my printable on a Spellbinders loopy oval and threaded

organza ribbon through the loops and added a bow on the top.

I have added a small clothes pin to the back on one side

to hold the name of the months.  

Just print the names of your months and

use a punch or die cut to cut them out.

Tag You're It! -- In The Garden with My Besties CD

Hello Fellow My Besties Followers:

Antoinette here today and I will be sharing with you the fun I have when putting My Besties Tags together using elements from the My Besties In the Garden CD.  I am using several of the fun papers, images, and elements you get in the My Besties "In the Garden" CD. I am not Tech savvy but I will share with you what I use the My Besties CD's on. I have an HP, Windows 10 computer and when playing with the CD's to print the images I want to use for my design I use Microsoft Word.  I don't want to get off subject but the Sherri Baldy/My Besties CD's are well worth the money and more.  Sherri literally gives us 100's of digital images in jpg and png to color, cut, make into 3D projects in these CD's you get a fun array of design papers, images, card toppers, elements to go with each featured style My Besties image on the CD. I try to buy one here and there when Sherri gives us her fabulous 50 % and sometimes 55% off sales.  I have four of the My Besties CD's  in my Collection  and am hoping to buy the Ella Bella Buttons on the next sale. Ella Bella is the cutest I love the elements that come with her when you purchase her in the Ella Bella 3D Decoupage kit. You can check the the different CD's all out HERE in the My Besties Shop.

Design Papers

Digital images to color

There are several pre-colored images and card toppers you get     In the Garden CD. I chose to use this adorable My Bestie pre-colored image to feature her as I made her into a 3D tag project.

Here is a picture of the beginning stages of starting my #8 size manila  6 1/2 x 3 1/4 Tag. I cut my design paper chosen from the CD to fit the tag.  Once I glued down my design paper I did an inking process on my Embossing Folder by rubbing my pink ink pad on one side of the folder that gave the pretty pink flower impression lines on my paper. It also gives the paper a distressed and different look. I also used the same design paper for my heart diecut design doing the same distressed inking process but did not put as much ink because I wanted the heart diecut design to pop as I double layered it on my tag

 .

Here below are some My Besties tickets from the "Spring 2 Elements Pack 2" one of the My Besties Printable Paper Elements line that are available for embellishing your projects. I love them and use them alot. Since these are in the Printable/Digital line you can alter the size as you need. I did make them just a little bit bigger. And I love that you can tweak them by adding your color scheme with your markers or color pencils. In this case, I coordinated the tickets with the pinks and yellow on my tag. My "be joyful" sentiment I stamped on. As you see on the picture below of the   Spring 2 Elements Pack 2 you get so many fabulous elements to use for your projects. My favorite are the beautifully distressed and floral Postcards. You will have to add this Spring 2 Elements Pack 2 to your wish list it is very useful.  There are tags, sentiments and more in the particular My Besties - Spring 2 Elements Pack 2.

 Here is a close up look and the elements added to my tag. The little sunflower is also an element you get as embellishments for your projects in this In the Garden CD. I love taking advantage of my leftover My Besties design paper when they have flowers I cut them and use them for future My Besties projects like I did on this one.  The adorable Ladybug is in the Little Sweeties CD as one of the many fun elements which I also tweaked and added some yellow to the flower to coordinate with my tag.

 

I love that I can make my tags featuring all the lovely and fun My Besties images, design papers and elements Sherri has available in the My Besties Shop. 

Mixed Media Fun with My Besties

Hello Fellow My Besties Friends,

Printable "cp m2"

Antoinette here today sharing my fun mixed media project using some My Besties Printable/Digital products as I intricately chose to Modpodge a  6x6 canvas featuring the My Besties precolored Printable "cp m2" using her as a 3D Decoupage image.




For the background I decoupaged several different pieces and pages from the Printable Designer Grunge Paper Pack/The Blue Rose Garden Aqua. My favorite color is blue and the turquoises in the cp m2 digital image stood pretty against these darker and lighter blue in the design pages.

Here are a few pictures as I Modpogded each layer of  the Blue Rose Garden Aqua Printable pack Design Paper along with the lace. I distressed the edges of some of the layers two different ways one being with my scissor and a couple of the design pages were torn to give the look I wanted.

 

After I Modged all the layers. As I worked on the flowers I wanted them to have a 3D look so I printed more flowers off the same design pages in the Printable My Besties Grunge paper pack by cropping several corners with only the flowers using my Word document software. I  then cut several flowers out with my scissors separating some of the petals. I then Mod podged each flower before laying them down in their secure spots. I even Modpodged my 3D image before gluing her down,

I did make sure to let each layer dry good for a day before doing the next layer. I thoughtfully and slowly picked through my embellishments I had on hand and enhanced the background to the final look I was happy with. I did Modpodge over the pearl designs and other miniature flowers.  I love the way she look.

Summer fun with Fluffy Besties Babes

Hello Fellow My Besties Friends,


Antoinette here today sharing with you a fun card I put together to start my summer fun using My Fluffy Besties Beach Babes.  I used the Printable precolored image making it into a 3D Decoupage project. It has all the colors I love and didn't have to mess with the coloring.

Here is how I started the foundation of my 6 by 6 card. I did a little tweaking on making my background framing the right size. I cut and stretched my Spellbinders Shapebilities frame out so they would fit perfectly behind my designed featured image of the Printable precolored Fluffy Besties Beach Babes.

I must share that working with these precolored printable My Besties are my favorite to play with especially the part that I can be cutting them with my scissors as I watch television or just laying and trying to unwind.
